The espresso bar
Espresso, batch filter and cold brew on from the moment we open. All poured from beans roasted in the room behind the counter.
Fremantle · Western Australia
Driftwood sits close enough to the Fishing Boat Harbour that you can walk from the sea, collect a flat white and a bag of Harbourmaster, and be back on the waterfront before your coffee cools. We're open every day — early, as it should be.
Find us here
We're tucked near the Fishing Boat Harbour in Fremantle — the espresso bar and the roastery share the same space, so some mornings you'll walk in to the smell of a fresh batch mid-roast. That's not an accident. We wanted the two things in the same room.
Parking is easy along the harbour foreshore and the number 106 bus stops a short walk away. If you're cycling in along the Fremantle waterfront path, there's a rack out front.

When we're open
We open before most of Fremantle stirs. Whether you're heading to work or heading to the water, the bar is ready.
6:30 am – 2:00 pm. Espresso, filter and cold brew on from the moment the doors open. We close at 2pm sharp — the roaster needs the afternoon.
7:00 am – 1:00 pm. A slower start on weekends, with Saturday mornings reserved for our public cupping sessions. No booking needed — just show up with a curious palate.
We tend to keep weekend hours on public holidays, but it's worth emailing ahead if you're making a special trip. Drop us a line at [email protected] to confirm.
What's waiting at the bar
The bar menu is straightforward. We pour the four house roasts across three brew formats and grind to order for anything you'd like to take home. Everything on the counter was roasted in the room behind it.

The Fremantle waterfront cycle path runs directly past us. There's a bike rack out front — lock up and come in. A cold brew on a warm coastal morning hits differently after a ride.
If you're already by the harbour or the Fremantle Markets, we're a leisurely stroll. Follow the water south and look for the roastery with the open door and the smell of something worth stopping for.
Saturday cupping
Every Saturday we open the counter for a public cupping session. We lay out all four house roasts — Driftline, Harbourmaster, Southerly and First Light — and walk through what makes each one taste the way it does. It's free, it's informal, and it's a genuinely good way to spend an hour before the day starts.
